Taku haerenga | My journey
As a Certified Life Coach specialising in family coaching, I bring over 20 years of experience working with people from all walks of life. Across diverse spaces and communities, I have honed and cultivated communication skills grounded deeply in the human experience. I have a proven ability to establish positive, authentic relationships with individuals and families at any stage of life and from all cultural backgrounds.
I have been a stay-at-home father, run my own childcare and holiday programme business, worked in education, in the care sector, and in the arts. These experiences have shaped a wealth of transferable skills rooted in empathy, integrity, and meaningful connection. They have given me a deep, lived understanding of family dynamics, parenting, communication, and personal growth. I live in the sweet spot where passion and ability coincide.
My work as a Life Coach, particularly within families, is driven by a belief that strong relationships create strong foundations. I support parents, caregivers, and whānau to communicate more effectively, navigate challenges with clarity, and build environments where every member feels valued and heard.
I am extremely passionate about working with people and highly effective in doing so. The confidence and charisma I exude come from a deep understanding of self and social constructs. My curious nature and analytical outlook keep me searching for innovative approaches — always evolving, never stagnant. I am driven by seeing people feel valued, seize opportunities to flourish, and live into their full potential.
I stand for equality for all humans and believe that through relationship, connection, and courageous communication, this is possible. My purpose in life is to make the lives of others better. Kōrero Pono - honest, meaningful conversation - is my pursuit in doing so.
